I love to ride my bike, especially in beautiful locations. It’s also no secret that I love good food and wine—two things I get to enjoy a little more since retiring from professional racing. So when the Napa County Bike Coalition asked me to be part of their Legendary Napa Bike Wine Tour, it was an easy choice.
The event is a fundraiser for the Coalition’s goal to make Napa Valley more bike friendly for riders of all levels. Limited to only 30 people, this will be a fun, intimate opportunity to enjoy the best of the valley.
The Tour kicks off October 31st with a welcome dinner at Vineyard 29 by star chef Gustavo Rios and Master of Wine Peter Marks, who will present a world-class reserve tasting from some of Napa’s finest vintages. The next morning after breakfast at Auberge du Soleil is a 55-mile ride through wine country with a trip up Mt. Veeder. We’ll stop at Pine Ridge Winery for lunch prepared by Executive Chef Janet Sheehan, and then continue on to Clif Family Winery’s Velo Vino tasting room in St. Helena.
All in all, this will be a great time and for a worthy cause. Check out LegendaryNapaBike.org for more details and to register. Hope to see you there.
